Trump Kicks Of The Weekend By Throwing Himself A Pity Party Over Talks Of Impeachment

Donald Trump is taking a victory lap after Special Counsel Robert Mueller disputed parts of the BuzzFeed News article that was published on Friday. The report alleges that it used multiple sources claiming that the president directed his longtime attorney Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about negotiations to build a Trump Tower in Moscow. According to the report, “Trump also supported a plan, set up by Cohen, to visit Russia during the presidential campaign, in order to personally meet President Vladimir Putin and jump-start the tower negotiations. “Make it happen,” the sources said Trump told Cohen.

Trump, of course, falsely claimed last night that the Steele Dossier has been “totally discredited.” From there, Trump tweeted that “Fake News is truly the ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!”

On Saturday morning, Trump claimed that he’s our “favorite president,” then went on to compare himself to Abraham Lincoln. Trump was quoting former House Speaker Newt Gingrich who in the 1990s presided over one of the longest government shutdowns in US history. Trump claims that he’s accomplished more in two years than any other president in history.

From there, Trump, who shut the government down almost four weeks ago, leaving 800,000 government employees furloughed, with some federal workers having to endure 8-hour work days without being paid week after week, claimed that his economy “is one of the best in history.” Then, he touted the stock market even though when it has tanked, he went completely silent on the subject. Trump threatened if Democrats impeach him, the stock market will crash.

Trump then went back to the BuzzFeed story.

The Internet responded.

The fake news President* strikes again but the Internet fact-checked the thin-skinned former reality show star. Trump is not America’s “favorite president.” He is, in fact, the least popular president in the history of polling.

While Trump claims that he’s being treated more unfairly than any other president before him, he seems to selectively forget that he led a birther conspiracy against his predecessor and dogged him for years, asserting that our country’s first black president was really born in Kenya and not Hawaii.

As for the BuzzFeed report, it seems to me that Trump is siding with Robert Mueller. Meanwhile, Trump’s former longtime attorney and fixer, Michael Cohen, will be testifying on February 7th.

Buckle up, Mr. Trump, it’s going to be a bumpy ride.
