Republican Candidate For Governor Just Threatened To Violently Assault His Democratic Opponent

Republicans have been calling for civility from the left in an apparent need for a safe place from protesters. It’s 2018 and irony is dead. Obviously, Republicans are suffering from selective memory issues regarding their president’s violent rhetoric at his ego-rallies. And now, a Republican candidate for Pennsylvania governor released a video on Facebook in which he threatens to violently assault his opponent, Gov. Tom Wolf (D). Republican candidate Scott Wagner threatened to “stomp all over” Gov. Wolf’s “face with golf spikes.”

Wagner is seen standing next to a chair with a pile of paychecks on it, then he threw a fit next to the street over negative ads during his unhinged rant, then his rhetoric got violent.

“Governor Wolf, let me tell you, between now and November 6th, you better put a catcher’s mask on your face because I’m gonna stomp all over your face with golf spikes because I’m gonna win this for the state of Pennsylvania, and we’re throwing you out of office because you know what, I’m sick and tired of your negative ads,” Wagner said in a Facebook Live video.

In an email to Penn Live, Wagner’s spokesman, Andrew Romeo, insisted that the Republican nominee’s remarks “were not to be taken literally.”

“He wanted them to be a metaphor for how he will approach the final stretch of the campaign,” he said.

Wolf’s campaign spokesperson, Beth Melena told the outlet that Wagner’s “latest rant” made him “unhinged and unfit for office.”

“Threats of violence have no place in society, especially from someone running for public office,” she continued. “This is part of an unfortunate pattern with Scott Wagner.”

Wolf is leading in the polls by over 16 points. If he loses, maybe Trump can give him a spot in his administration.
