Disastrous Dependence

The need for energy has never been more important. America has been dependent on oil to meet its energy needs for over a century now and as the rest of the world aspires to be like us, it is clear that the worlds supply of oil is thinning out and running dry.

The Fires Of Ignorance

If Republicans have their way, education funding will be cut down to a bare minimum in their effort to trim a budget that they inflated by their wars. But instead of trimming a tremendous amount of defense spending, they have chosen to focus on destroying education.

Big Business Loopholes and Bipartisanship

Big Business Loopholes and Bipartisanship

This is something you might not want to hear. If you don’t think you can keep an open-mind for about thirty seconds while I explain my position, you should probably be a conservative. I’m not suggesting anything drastic, just a partial ceasefire.

A Golden Opportunity?

A Golden Opportunity?

Republicans have been calling for a return to the Gold Standard, but is it a good idea?

Michele Bachmann’s Lies About Her History– Is She Hiding In Plain Sight?

Since she is a public employee, the public has the RIGHT to know. Who is Michele Bachmann really? This is a strange woman hiding in plain sight. Why is the media or even journalists not taking this information and running with it?

Should The Democrats Challenge Obama In The Primaries?

After having spent the first two years of the Obama Administration, nit-picking, finding fault, gratuitously criticizing, and, when all else failed, inventing reasons to despair of the Democratic President, in the run-in to another general election, various people, pundits and politicians are still calling for this President to be primaried.

Michele Bachmann – Woman of Mystery

Michele Bachmann – Woman of Mystery

Even though Michele Bachmann has become this shiny ‘rock star’ of the tea party movement, she remains this kind of elusive, mysterious woman when you think about it. Sure, we can read her bio on her website or even on Wikipedia, but what does it say really?

Why I’m not pledging to my local NPR station.

The Solvency Of Social Security

The Solvency Of Social Security

Created in 1935, and signed into law by FDR, Social Security has been part of American lives for over 70 years now. But it hasn’t been without enemies. Ever since it came into existence, Republicans have sworn to take down the program that keeps retired senior citizens from living in poverty.

Something Old, Something Renewed

Something Old, Something Renewed

If we got in our “way back” machine and visited Henry Ford, we’d find out some pretty remarkable things. The material and fuel he wanted his cars to run on. It wasn’t any of DuPont’s new fangled plastics derived from petroleum or oil based gasoline. He preferred Hemp.

Wisconsin and Learning from Our Mistakes

Wisconsin and Learning from Our Mistakes

This was never about fiscal responsibility. It was never about balancing a budget and job creation, two of the major subjects the Republican party whined and groaned about throughout 2010. It was all about busting union power, bringing those organisations formed by working people to their proverbial knees. It was about quashing the little man. It was about keeping the peasants in their place.

College Voters, You May Possibly Be Disenfranchised

College Voters in New Hampshire will still be able to pass in a ballot on election day… for now. It seems that there are some New Hampshire Republicans that would not like that to happen.

Don’t Hate Me Because I Care About Others

Don’t Hate Me Because I Care About Others

Why am I demonized for wanting a healthy and successful America? Why am I demonized for wanting equality for LGBT individuals and every minority group? Why am I demonized for caring about the education of the children in America? Why am I demonized for wanting others to respect those who […]
