Mitch McConnell: Hard At Work Putting Us Back Into Recession

It’s not that Republicans hate America, they just don’t give a damn about it.

The ‘Right’ Is Usually Wrong

The ‘Right’ Is Usually Wrong

There is a commonly held belief that we should be accepting of views from the left and the right wing, and assume that everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. We live, after all, in a country that embraces the concept of free speech. Therefore even people in the KKK have a right to say their piece, no matter how abhorrent their viewpoint might be.

Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann

Why Is One Man’s Racism Another Man’s Comedy?

Why Is One Man’s Racism Another Man’s Comedy?

How is Bill Maher’s repeated reference to the President as ‘President Sanford and Son’ any different from Limbaugh’s depiction as such, using the Sanford and Son music as a backdrop to his criticism?

Destroying Republican Myths on the Debt Ceiling

Destroying Republican Myths on the Debt Ceiling

I’m beyond sick of Republicans on the debt ceiling. They claim to be the fiscally responsible ones, but earlier this year they voted to pass the Ryan Budget which would not only end Medicare, but would also add $5 Trillion to the national debt over the next 10 years. And now they’re perfectly comfortable with risking another economic catastrophe and recession just so they can keep tax breaks for a bunch of rich people.

A chart showing the number of Republicans who voted to raise the debt ceiling, under a Republican President.

This Entire Debt Limit Discussion Is Outrageous!

From 2002-2009, Republicans in the House and Senate voted to raise the United States debt ceiling 7 times under George W. Bush, a Republican president. They raised the debt ceiling with no worries, no concern, no filibusters, no problems, no mentions of ‘children and grandchildren’, or any of this right-wing rhetoric we seem to hear spewed every day from the Republicans here in the year 2011.

Are You Better Off Now Than You Were Two Years Ago?

Are You Better Off Now Than You Were Two Years Ago?

The Republican Party has drawn their line in the sand; they flatly refuse to raise taxes on the wealthy. Their argument is that higher taxes kills job creation. Proponents phrase this as, ‘lower taxes creates jobs’ and ‘we cannot tax the job creators’. This is a circular logic, which is not substantiated by evidence.

Is Obama A Muslim (And Does It Matter)?

Is Obama A Muslim (And Does It Matter)?

First of all I would like to say that no, it doesn’t matter. UNLESS you don’t care about the constitution. In Article VI of the Constitution it states ‘no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.’

What Impact (if any) Do Top Marginal Tax Rates Have On GDP Growth Rates?

What Impact (if any) Do Top Marginal Tax Rates Have On GDP Growth Rates?

Regardless of which inflation-adjusted measure we use, the answer is still the same: Overall, the past 80 years show us a thorough lack of clear correlation between the top marginal tax rate and GDP growth. The data’s closest hint of a relationship derives from the slightly more robust average GDP growth back when the top rates were higher, but that closest hint isn’t close enough to be sure of an ideal rate.

What Would a Republican/Tea Party Government Do Within 2 Years Of Governing?

What Would a Republican/Tea Party Government Do Within 2 Years Of Governing?

If the Republicans / Tea Party had control of every branch of Government they’ve already made it clear what they would do, based on the policies they champion.

Why Is Welfare Okay?

Why Is Welfare Okay?

We’ve all heard the stereotype, the octomoms of this world, milking the system taking those welfare checks, taking our hard earned tax dollars and living the high life while we all have to work for a living. The reality, for most people on welfare, is that life is extremely hard. It means living in a poor neighborhood, going without, buying the cheap food with food stamps, boredom, discrimination, depression, and often poor health. It isn’t some free ride, it isn’t easy street, it just plain sucks.

Republicans Want ‘Government Out of Healthcare’? – Hypocrisy at Play

The Republicans say ‘keep your Government hands off my healthcare’ while simultaneously promoting an agenda, and passing legislation, regarding healthcare.

The GOP and Voter Fraud – The Hypocrisy of a Movement

Welcome to Arizona: Home of The REAL Death Panels

Welcome to Arizona: Home of The REAL Death Panels

Many people on the right accuse President Obama of wanting to implement death panels, but the Republican Governor of Arizona is trying to create something much closer to ‘death panels’.

The Myth Of Socialism

The Myth Of Socialism

Recently, it has become the rhetoric of the GOP that anything that doesn’t agree with them is ‘socialist’ or ‘leading us towards socialism’. This is not the first time the GOP has tried this tactic. Socialism doesn’t mean what they want you to think it means, they’re using the term incorrectly.

Those reckless Republicans

Those reckless Republicans

The Republican party has been so wrapped up in their Pledge to America over not raising taxes, they view compromise as siding with the enemy.

Blame the Workers at Your Own Peril

Republicans are getting away with attacking workers while Democrats do little to push back against the increasing corporate power in the United States at the expense of the rest of us.
