Republican Agenda: From 0 To Starvation In 21 Days (Video)

One in seven households in the U.S. are ‘food insecure,’ meaning that getting enough to eat is a daily struggle.

Occupy’s Rebuttal to Right-Wing Media Critics: The Tea Party’s Violent ‘DontGo Movement’

So, in the face of the Occupy Wall Street protests – which is basically, like the tea party claimed to be, simply fed up with the status quo – one would think that the right-wing media would herald its arrival, just like it did the Tea Party in 2008.

Republicans: Anti-Life, One Policy At A Time

For the party that calls itself ‘pro-life,’ Republicans spend an inordinate amount of time pushing legislation that harms, even kills, women . . .

Republicans; Even An Atheist Knows Jesus Would Be Pissed

If you think it’s odd that an atheist would be making a video about the return of Jesus, don’t – because the point is not whether you believe or I believe, the point is that the religions right/Tea Party/Republicans claim to have a corner on the God market, claim to be believers – and they still behave like they do, promoting raging hatred, an unjust economic agenda, and hatred for that scary ‘other.’

Occupy Wall Street: A Liberal’s Quagmire

Occupy Wall Street: A Liberal’s Quagmire

I don’t particularly care if the Occupy Wall Street protests spark a battle between the left and the right – we’re used to battles between the left and the right . . . except, this time, I’m not exactly sure how that battle will end. From what I’m seeing, and hearing, the movement’s singular lack of focus and leadership (though touted by the protesters as one of its charms) is likely to open a chasm into which Republicans can step and effectively apply their spin.

Republicans: Their ‘Elegant Disguise For Hatred Of The Human Race’

Republicans: Their ‘Elegant Disguise For Hatred Of The Human Race’

‘Contempt for happiness is usually contempt for other people’s happiness, and is an elegant disguise for hatred of the human race’ – Bertrand Russell

Thin-Skinned Palin – Threatening To Sue Author Who ‘Outed’ Her

Respected author Joe McGinniss – who became the youngest living writer, at age 26, to have his book, The Selling of the President 1968, land on the NY Times bestseller list – is no hack. And yet, despite his history of writing acclaim, he wasn’t a blip on the political radar until he wrote The Rogue: Searching for the Real Sarah Palin. And suddenly, this dignified man has become the creepy stalker with a private agenda to destroy Sarah Palin.

Chris Christie: The GOP’s Great White Hopeless

Chris Christie: The GOP’s Great White Hopeless

So now the Republicans have circled back to New Jersey Governor Chris Christie. Okay, can we talk? There’s no way that an obese man can win the presidential election, okay? I mean, the last fat president we had was Taft, I think. I hate to be blunt, but there it is. Just look at this!

The Racists Think I’m One Of Them

The Racists Think I’m One Of Them

I’m a bleeding heart liberal white woman from a suburb of Chicago. I work in a professional job. I’m not on government assistance. And many white people – racist white people, the people with attitudes about the poor, those on government assistance or young black people having babies out of wedlock…those people often think I’m one of them.

The Party of Death

The Party of Death

This isn’t really a commentary on the death penalty – although, that being said, my views on the death penalty have been, at various times, various things. I’ve been for it, I’ve been against it, I’ve been neutral. A particularly heinous crime, particularly crimes against children, make me long for […]

Obama’s Job Speech Leaves Republicans Stuck Between a Rock and a Hard Place

The President, of course, anticipated the ‘press releases, Tweets, media’ proclaiming the impossibility of bridging the differences and actually coming to some agreement.

The Tea Party As Victims Of Left-Wing Persecution And Hate Rhetoric? Who Knew?

The tea party wants an apology for what they believe is ugly, hate-filled rhetoric directed at them, even though the tea party is responsible for a lot of ugly, violent, hate-filled rhetoric.

Cantor & Co. Disgusting, Despicable Tea Party Abusers: Give Irene Victims Help

So let me get this straight: According to New York Republican Rep. Nan Hayworth, refusing to provide aid – in her own district, no less – to victims of Irene unless the federal budget is cut is the same thing as families not taking vacations when they have too many bills?

Republicans: The Most Outrageously Uncivilized Pack of Jackals

Okay, come on, guys (and yes, Republicans, that means you), let’s get real here. Rick Perry came out with some, really, very typical right-wing blather about Ben Bernanke being treasonous and talked about how Texans would treat Bernanke ‘pretty ugly’ down there (which, in Texas, probably means being on the receiving end of something that goes boom).

President Obama is Like George W in Fairy Tales and Right-Wing Fantasies

Okay, I’ve had it, I’ve really had it, with people – including some ‘progressives’ – who continue to beat that boring and nonsensical drum that President Obama is just like George W. ‘OBusha?’ Really?

Republicans: Sold Your Souls to the Teabagging Devils

Congressional tea party Congressmen and women are becoming the bane of Boehner . . . they’re even drawing criticism from the likes of uber-conservatives Bill O’Reilly and Charles Krauthammer, who called Michele Bachmann ‘unbelievably irresponsible’ for her refusal (shared by some 60 Republican Congressmen and women) to vote to raise the debt ceiling under any circumstances.
