Trump Shares His Impeachment Terror With ‘Friends’ Who Share It With All Of Us

Serial adulterer and alleged president Donald J. Trump has confided to a number of close friends that despite his brave face in public, he is terrified by the prospect of impeachment.

Of course, the fact that people Trump considers friends all saw fit to tell NBC News about their private conversations with him underscores just how deeply compromised the Trump presidency has always been.

As always, the narcissist-in-chief blames everybody else for his problems.

The president has been on a days-long tirade, sources tell NBC News, lashing out at his own staff and lawmakers on Capitol Hill, frustrated by the threat of a Democratic House with subpoena power, an array of looming congressional investigations, multiple intensifying federal probes, a botched effort to find a new chief of staff and a potential partial government shutdown over a lack of funding for his top campaign promise — a border wall.

Trump has ranted about why no one around him is doing anything to stop any of it and vented about the lack of support he believes he has in Congress and within his own White House, the sources tell NBC News.

We’ve seen a lot of “mood pieces” about Trump before, yet this one does seem like a bit more than the usual drama. Let’s review, shall we?

Now being sentenced, Michael Flynn has apparently told Robert Mueller about campaign contacts with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak, aka collusion with Russian election meddling, the very thing Trump most adamantly denies.

Sentenced yesterday, Michael Cohen has established Individual 1 as an unindicted co-conspirator in a felony crime. As Rachel Maddow explained last night, Ivanka, Don Jr, and Eric Trump face potential indictments in the Southern District of New York for cutting the checks to pay back Cohen.

Russian spy Maria Butina is cooperating with Mueller’s counterintelligence investigation, which among other things seems to be aimed at the National Rifle Association for laundering Russian money to elect Trump.

On top of all that, things are about to get worse for Trump in the new year. Not only are Democrats taking control of the House and its investigative committee powers, but Mueller is reportedly targeting other foreign influences besides Russia.

“In court filings that are set to drop in early 2019, prosecutors will begin to unveil Middle Eastern countries’ attempts to influence American politics,” Erin Banco reports at The Daily Beast, citing “three sources familiar with this side of the probe.” Remember Trump’s bizarre Saudi photo-op, with everyone’s hands on the glowing globe? Those images are about to come back on Trump, a whole new world of hurt.

So yeah, would-be strongman Donald Trump is in a very weak position, very exposed to all sorts of leverage, and very worried about spending the rest of his life in prison, but he can’t even talk to his supposed friends about these fears without the whole world hearing about it.

The paranoia level in the White House must be poisonous right now.
