Trump: People Have Been Going To Their Cars To ‘Put On A Different Hat,’ Then Vote Again

After Republicans lost badly in the midterm elections, Donald Trump has been trying to end the recount votes in Florida and Georgia without having any apparent knowledge of the election laws in those states. Trump zeroed in on Florida today in an interview with the Daily Caller on Wednesday. And of course, Trump launched conspiracy theories while citing no evidence whatsoever.

Trump somehow said that Republicans “don’t win and that’s because of potentially illegal votes.”

“When people get in line that have absolutely no right to vote and they go around in circles,” the president* told the right-wing site. “Sometimes they go to their car, put on a different hat, put on a different shirt, come in and vote again. Nobody takes anything. It’s really a disgrace what’s going on.”

Then, Trump used that moment to push for national voter ID laws.

“If you buy a box of cereal — you have a voter ID,” he said even though you don’t need ID to purchase cereal. “They try to shame everybody by calling them racist or calling them something, anything they can think of, when you say you want voter ID.”

That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works.

Election monitors in Broward County, Florida have found no evidence of illegal voting.

“Our staff has seen no evidence of criminal activity at this time,” Sarah Revell, a spokesperson for the Florida Department of Elections, told the Miami Herald.

A recount in Florida is automatically triggered in that state if two candidates are within 0.5 points of each other, and a hand recount is mandated with a margin of 0.25 points or less. It’s not that difficult to understand. That is the state’s election laws and all Trump is doing is trying to undermine our elections. Putin must be so proud of his little puppet.
