Ted Cruz’s Desperate Attempt To Out-Cool Beto With His Own Facebook Live Video Goes Sideways…Literally

Incumbent Republican Texas Senator Ted Cruz seems to have the Midas touch when it comes to creating hilariously awkward moments on camera. Recently, the senator created another such moment when he tried his hand at Facebook Live, in an attempt to counter his Democratic opponent, Beto O’Rourke, who’s used social media tools such as Facebook Live with great success.

Cruz, however, found the simple task of making a live streaming video to be a daunting challenge as his tech-savvy endeavor suddenly took a sudden “turn” for worst during his well-rehearsed off-the-cuff remarks about immigration.

In fact, at the mention of the word “technology,” the video took a 90-degree turn which started a sequence of hilarious events which are sure to be mocked and remembered on the internet for years to come.

Here’s MSNBC’s Chris Hayes lampooning Cruz’s Facebook Live fail.

During the video, Cruz confessed that his team “may not win IT department of the year.” However, their candidate may wind up winning a different award from Twitterzens who immediately mocked Cruz’s fail with hilarious savagery.

And for the win.

Cruz may be the only politician who can satire himself better than Saturday Night Live ever could. Hopefully, Texans get out the vote in November so they can spare Cruz and their state any more humiliation.
