WATCH: Tucker Carlson Defends Trump’s Cruel Border Policy With Open White Nationalism

Ever since Donald Trump rode down that escalator in Trump Tower in June 2015 and announced he was running for president in a racist speech that described Mexican immigrants as rapists and criminals, those of us who know what racism looks like knew how dangerous he was. Now, fast forward three years, and Trump is squatting in the Oval Office and doing untold damage to our nation, both domestically and internationally. Of course, his latest exercise in his white nationalist agenda is to separate migrant children from their families at the border.

Of course, those of us who see what is happening are outraged and terrified. Not only is this an unspeakably cruel violation of human rights, but it is also something deeper: Trump and his cronies’ first step toward the ethnic cleansing of America. Of course, they will never admit that from the White House podium, but you know who will admit it? Fox News’ Tucker Carlson.

On Monday night, Carlson lit into anyone and everyone who dared to criticize the idea that the ripping of children from their parents’ grasp is in any way inhumane, and then went on to even suggest that the critics don’t actually care about the children at all. Carlson said:

“This is one of those moments that tells you everything about our ruling class. They care far more about foreigners than about their own people. The other thing you may have noticed is they are not especially interested in solutions to anything. They are great at yelling and preening, but not so much at fixing.”

Well, several solutions have been offered, Mr. Carlson, but your GOP cronies in Congress and in the White House aren’t interested. Now, this next bit is where the white nationalism comes in (emphasis mine):

“Don’t for a second let them take the moral high ground. Their goal is to change your country forever.”

So, in other words, Tucker Carlson is using the same dog whistle that Donald Trump, Jeff Sessions, Stephen Miller, GOP Iowa Congressman Steve King, and others have used for years to warn against the dangers of the browning of America: that too many black and brown people, that too much acceptance of the “other” will mean the destruction of America.

And make no mistake – that is what every since racist policy coming out of this GOP-controlled federal government is about. Folks like Tucker Carlson are just verbalizing with the racist government is doing via policy on networks that are nothing more than a propaganda arm for the Republican Party.
