Trump Erupts In Rage Tweets After He’s Sued Over His Bogus Charity

Donald Trump did not have a good day on Thursday. Before it was even noon news broke that New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood had filed a lawsuit against the Trump Foundation and its directors (that’d be Donald, Don Jr., Eric, and Ivanka) for a pattern of illegal activities stretching over more than a decade.

“As our investigation reveals, the Trump Foundation was little more than a checkbook for payments from Mr. Trump or his businesses to nonprofits, regardless of their purpose or legality,” Underwood said. “This is not how private foundations should function and my office intends to hold the Foundation and its directors accountable for its misuse of charitable assets.”

Not only did Underwood initiate a process to dissolve Trump’s sham charity and seek restitution of $2.8 million and additional penalties, but she also sent referral letters to the IRS and FEC asking that they investigate the Foundation’s violations of federal law.

The investigation into the Trump Foundation revealed something that was obvious during the 2016 race against Hillary Clinton: that Trump used it to influence the presidential election. The $2.8 million referenced was the amount raised by Trump when he skipped a Republican primary debate to instead hold a nationally televised rally for the foundation.

Underwood found numerous instances of self-dealing, including Trump’s purchase of a $10,000 painting of himself, Trump’s use of charity money to pay off his businesses’ lawsuits, and other illegal activity.

Naturally, Trump threw a massive fit when confronted with his crimes.

the purportedly nonprofit Trump Foundation.

“The sleazy New York Democrats, and their now disgraced (and run out of town) A.G. Eric Schneiderman, are doing everything they can to sue me on a foundation that took in $18,800,000 and gave out to charity more money than it took in, $19,200,000,” Trump wrote. “I won’t settle this case!”

“Schneiderman, who ran the Clinton campaign in New York, never had the guts to bring this ridiculous case, which lingered in their office for almost 2 years,” he said. “Now he resigned his office in disgrace, and his disciples brought it when we would not settle.”

He also took a moment to whine about the Russia investigation, falsely stating that “collusion” is not a crime (normally it’s called Conspiracy).

This is yet the latest problem Trump has encountered thanks to his own actions — but as usual, he is blaming it all on Democrats.
