Trump F*cks Up Latest Speech, Gets RIPPED For Not Knowing How Birth Works (TWEETS)

Today, Donald Trump gave a speech to the March For Life, an anti-choice rally for people who claim to care about babies, and in addition to not knowing how certain types of abortion work, he seemed to say he doesn’t even know how birth works. He literally said:

“Right now, in a number of states, the laws allow a baby to be born from his or her mother’s womb in the ninth month. It is wrong, it has to change.”

Um, yeah, so, it’s wrong for full-term babies to be born? Or there are states that have laws prohibiting full-term babies to be born? Maybe he’s saying it’s wrong for women to give birth in September, which is the ninth month of the year? (Yes, we know what he meant, but he can’t give a simple speech without screwing up an awful lot of the time.)

Twitter is just going to town on this:

Less than 1.5 percent of abortions happen after 21 weeks, let alone in the ninth month. Those that do happen very late are generally for anomalies that make the fetus nonviable, such as not having a brain. Trump first spouted this “babies can be aborted up through the final day of the ninth month of pregnancy” back in 2016, and he seems not to have let go of that. Nobody allows a full-term baby to be born and then killed. And, as one OBGYN who has performed late-term abortions says, it’s not like women just decide at 30 weeks (or 32 weeks or 24 weeks, etc.), “Oh, I don’t want to have this child:”

“I’ve counseled women about later term abortions. I’ve met with them, listened to their heartbreak, and used every ounce of my being to hold back my tears. I’ve comforted women and their partners sobbing about the fact their baby has no brain or can never breathe as their lungs have not developed. I’ve helped women figure out how to get the body of what had been a wanted pregnancy back home for burial. I’ve cared for women ravaged with infection at 22 or 23 weeks and sat worried by their bedside in the intensive care unit hoping that I did the abortion in time to save their life.”

That particular, ahem, mistake in Trump’s speech is a gross insult to women who have been through this. Trump needs to be more careful or he needs to stop giving speeches altogether. We prefer the latter.
