Three Years Of Domestic Terrorism Summed Up By One Brave Planned Parenthood Worker

A woman who worked at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Kansas has posted a list of all the different ways she and her coworkers were terrorized by Christian extremists during the three years she worked there. Between the threats, the arson, and the rest, she paints a very clear picture of a terrorist group that has been allowed to operate with near impunity in a country that is supposedly in a “War on Terror”:

The FBI’s definition of Domestic Terrorism is actually pretty simple. It has to:

A. Involve acts dangerous to human life that violate federal or state law.
B. Appear intended to intimidate or coerce a civilian population.

Yet, “domestic terrorism” is a phrase rarely heard in the United States, despite hundreds of crimes a year that fall comfortably inside the definition laid out by the FBI. Take, for instance, Friday’s attack on a Colorado Planned Parenthood clinic that left three dead and nine wounded. The shooter was rambling about “no more baby parts,” a clear and unambiguous reference to the completely discredited videos claiming to show Planned Parenthood “selling” the bodies of aborted fetuses. There’s already been a concerted effort by both Republicans, right-wing media, and their enablers in the corporate media to label the carnage as anything other than what it clearly is: domestic terrorism. Don’t expect to hear the FBI use the phrase, either, since the killer is a Christian extremist.

But Greenwood’s experiences, those of the survivors of Friday’s attack, and Planned Parenthood staff all over the country say otherwise. Terrorism by Christian extremists is on the rise in America, and it’s just as unhinged as you’d expect. Greenwood even highlights the absurdity of the anti-Planned Parenthood movement by highlighting something kind of important about the clinic she worked in where the workers were supposedly “murdering whores”:

This simply shows that the Christian Extremists are more interested in enforcing their theocratic dogma than knowing what the hell they’re talking about.

Abortion is a constitutional right in the United States, and having so far failed to use abuse the power of the government to stop it, Christian Extremists are resorting to violence, intimidation, and fear to get what they want. In other words, they’ve resorted to terrorism even if law enforcement and the corporate media refuse to acknowledge the screamingly obvious:

Personally, I’d like to thank Greenwood as well as each and every Planned Parenthood worker for literally risking their lives to provide medical services to millions of men and women all across America. In a perfect world, they would be able to continue to save millions of lives with low-cost cancer screenings, basic medical care, easy access to contraception, and by preventing the spread of numerous STIs without being demonized by the conservative media and politicians. But this is ‘Murika, where helping the poor is the worst sin of all.
