Fox News’ Sean Hannity Wants To Know If Politicians, Media Manipulate Black Voters

Fox News should really avoid talking about things they know nothing about. Whether it’s women’s rights or Black Lives Matter, the network isn’t exactly the reliable source of ideological independence.

This week on on Mike Gallagher’s podcast, Dr. Ben Carson alluded that black voters have been manipulated by politicians and the media.

“I think American blacks over the course of this next year,” Dr. Carson said, “will begin to see that they’ve been manipulated very, very largely, and people tell them what they’re supposed to think and what they’re supposed to say. And more and more, I’m finding, are thinking for themselves and are recognizing, you know, what really works for them and for their communities.”

That statement naturally prompted Sean Hannity to host a segment where he invited disgraceful Milwaukee county sheriff, David Clarke, and criminal defense attorney, Eric Guster, for their responses. Hannity says that every year Black America is told lies by politicians. (To be fair, it isn’t only Black America that are told lies or given unattainable promises by politicians. It happens to all Americans.)

“The Republican Party doesn’t go after the African American vote,” Guster said. “The Republican Party totally ignores the African American population.”

He makes a decent point. Republicans don’t reach out to the black community enough. For all of his flaws, of which there are many, at least Rand Paul went to Howard University in an attempt to talk to African American youth. He completely bombed and got schooled instead, but at least he showed up in the first place.  In the GOP Presidential Debates by both Fox News and CNN there wasn’t a single question about BLM, civil rights, police brutality, or any issues facing the African American community. Ignoring an entire part of the population doesn’t help create a convincing narrative that black voters are being manipulated. How would the right even know? They’re nowhere to be found.

Clarke says the mainstream media has become a wing of the Democratic party and only talk about issues that make liberals look bad and every right wing talking point we hear day after day.

It’d be great if this were true, but it isn’t. The Mainstream Media isn’t liberal — it’s capitalist. They’re going to talk about whatever makes them the most money.

It’s so demeaning to say that African Americans have been somehow manipulated. Like they aren’t smart enough to know what’s best for them and their community. I’m fairly certain they’ve always known what is best for them and their community. They’re not stupid, they’re not being duped, and it’s disgusting and disrespectful to treat them like they don’t know any better.
