Roland Martin Blasts Bill O’Reilly: ‘Shut The Hell Up’ About Taking Down #BlackLivesMatter (VIDEO)

Roland Martin threw down a bold challenge to Bill O’Reilly and the rest of Fox News, daring them to have him on to debate the Black Lives Matter movement, “You want to call me, or someone who is a black journalist, pick the phone up. I’ll be there, any time, any day.”

The News One host blasted Bill O’Reilly over his nonstop whining about #BLM having the nerve to criticize the police:

“I don’t recall you, Bill O’Reilly, ever saying that you’re gonna take out police brutality,” Martin said. “I don’t recall you ever saying you’re gonna take out police corruption. But all of a sudden, you want to take out [the] Black Lives Matter movement because you don’t like the fact that they’re out there protesting.”

Here’s the video of Martin calling out the craven O’Reilly:

If it seems odd that O’Reilly, a huge critic of anything and everything run by the government, should be such a champion of government-run law enforcement, here’s a quick explanation: O’Reilly and his fellow right-wing badgelickers despise the idea of government unless it benefits the rich and/or oppresses and hurts the powerless. In the case of the police, they have systemically devastated the black community, keeping them in a vicious cycle of broken homes and poverty. This is not a bug of American law enforcement, it’s a feature and Black Lives Matter is threatening the program.

One of the most dangerous things about #BLM is that it’s making far too many previously oblivious white people say to themselves: “Thank God I’m not black! I would NEVER let the cops treat me like that!”

From there, it’s a very short step for those same previously oblivious white people to ask the next question: “Wait, if I wouldn’t let the cops treat ME like that, why am I OK with them treating black people like that?”

THAT’S why O’Reilly is so angry: #BLM isn’t just a voice for black people, it’s a voice that white people are hearing and, even worse, listening to.

In order to shut that voice up, O’Reilly and the right-wing have recently taken up the talking point that #BLM is a “hate group”, which is so Orwellian that the Ministry of Truth shed tears of pride and promptly retired. But Martin wasn’t having any of it. He wanted to know when O’Reilly would do something constructive with his platform instead of attacking other people trying to make things better:

“When are you gonna use your voice and your platform to go after cops? When will you, Bill O’Reilly, tell the good cops they should stand up and say something when cops lie on police reports when they kill black people?” Martin asked. “Until you do that, shut the hell up.”

Neither one of those things are going to happen any time soon. O’Reilly is quite content to have the police keep terrorizing those people in their own community so they’ll never rise up enough to come into his community.

I suspect that O’Reilly might decide to have Martin on his show because he’s a bully and would love nothing more than to shout down a black man in front of his audience. A white man putting a Negro in his place? They’ll eat it up like candy. Then again, like all bullies, O’Reilly is a coward. It’s just as likely he’ll refuse to go up against an intelligent black man armed with facts that can shout just as loudly. Better to pick an easier target that he can out-bellow and intimidate. I guess we’ll see if O’Reilly is the tough guy he always claims to be.

Don’t hold your breath, though.
