Fox’s John Stossel Calls Bullsh*t On O’Reilly’s Imaginary ‘War On Christianity’ (VIDEO)

John Stossel appeared on The O’Reilly Factor Tuesday night to talk about his upcoming special, Church and State. Stossel doesn’t buy O’Reilly’s never ending whining about Christians being oppressed, so the two yelled at each other about it for a few minutes.

After O’Reilly aired a montage of intolerant Christians claiming discrimination and calling for Christian Sharia law, the two engage in some quick back and forth banter,

Stossel: Your “War on Christianity”… you’re just a 10-foot-tall crybaby.

O’Reilly: I’m crying.

Stossel: It’s not so bad. Christians aren’t being killed.

O’Reilly: No, not yet.

Stossel: And not in America, and they’re not going to be.

O’Reilly: They’ve verbally being killed.

Stossel: So what?

O’Reilly: Wait a minute, Stossel! C’mon, now. You shouldn’t be diminished because you believe a certain way. Aren’t you outraged by that?

Stossel: [Stares] No… I mean, what’s diminished? 83% of the country says they are Christians.

O’Reilly: Yeah…

Stossel: You are the majority. You’ve won!

O’Reilly: Well, it’s not a matter of winning. It’s a matter of respect.

The First Amendment of the US Constitution guarantees Americans freedom of religion. We may practice any religion we like or no religion at all and there is to be a separation between church and state. Our Founding Fathers are on record endorsing these beliefs as well.

As such, no American, by law, can be forced to follow the guidelines set forth by a particular religion.

Jon Stewart masterfully dispels O’Reilly’s non-existent “War on Christmas” and “War on Christianity” every chance he gets. Here’s one of Stewart’s classic observations,

“You’ve confused a ‘war on your religion’ with ‘not always getting everything you want.’…America isn’t Nazi Germany. And the secret police aren’t coming for ya. Hell, the IRS isn’t even coming for ya. This government ‘hates’ religious organizations so much, it lets them keep $100 billion a year in offerings tax-free. Persecute my ass like that!” – Jon Stewart, The Daily Show, 02/13/12
