7th Heaven Star: I Am Not A Pedophile; I Just Molested Some Kids (VIDEO)

Stephen Collins, the disgraced actor who once starred on popular Christian TV show 7th Heaven, admitted in 2012 that he molested multiple underage girls over a period of many years. However, if you ask the former TV pastor if he is a pedophile, he dismisses the idea.

In tapes provided by Collins’ estranged wife Faye Grant, who recorded her husband’s admissions during a therapy session, Collins admits to molesting at least three underage girls — including a relative of his ex wife’s, who dealt with the abuse for several years, beginning when she was only eleven years old. “There was one moment of touching where her hand, I put her hand on my penis,” Collins said in the tape, adding that he exposed himself to her “a couple of times.”

On Friday, Collins joined Katie Couric to discuss his horrific actions — and he categorically denies that he is a pedophile:

A pedophile is someone who is mainly or wholly attracted to children. I’m not. I had a distortion in my thinking where I acted out in those ways. But I’m absolutely not attracted, physically or sexually attracted to children. I’m just not.

Couric asked Collins to describe his behavior in the times he admitted to molesting children. According to Collins, he simply had “boundary issues,” and “gave in several times” to his “exhibitionistic urges.”

Here’s the video:

Collins maintains that he had a “distortion in [his] thinking” that caused him to act on those urges and that, despite that he molested multiple children, he has never been sexually attracted to underage individuals.

In October, TMZ obtained an e-mail sent by Grant to Collins that discusses an alleged statement made by the former actor that he “just didn’t know” if he could keep their potential son’s “little penis out of [his] mouth.”

Collins suggested that a woman who allegedly repeatedly exposed herself to him when he was a child was to blame for his actions. “I did have someone in my life when I was between the age of about 10 and 15, an older woman, who repeatedly exposed herself to me,” he told Couric, suggesting that this alleged person contributed to his decision to molest at least three children.

“I did these things because, for whatever reasons — and I tried very hard in the last 20 years to understand,” he said.  “I did them. I’m not saying, you know, this woman did this, and therefore I did it.”

It’s fortunate that Collins is not a pedophile. Imagine if he molested children and was a pedophile. That would be bad, huh?
