5 Girls Aged 11-17  Shot In Mysterious Nightclub AttackGunfire hit five underage girls from 11 to 17-years-old at a nightclub in a pre-dawn shooting. Why were they there? This is only one of several mysteries surrounding the Miami shooting that left 15 people wounded.

What kind of weapons did the shooters use? Witnesses estimated over 100 shots from at least four different guns sent terrified people fleeing from the club, The Spot. But no further information on the weapons.

Florida has loose gun laws, of which the Stand Your Ground law is but one example.

When rescue crews arrived at the scene, police warned them to use caution, “because there was still active shooting taking place in the area.” Capt. Ignatius Carroll told the Associated Press.

How many were injured? “People were screaming, people were saying they were shot,” Carroll said. First responders found wounded both inside and outside of the club. And there were wounded patrons too hurt to flee. Carroll said people were yelling for help for their wounded friends,

People were screaming, people were saying they were shot.

One male was found unresponsive and not breathing when the emergency responders arrived.

Police spokesperson, Fredrica Burden said that the victims have been cooperative,

The investigators are still interviewing witnesses. They’re going from hospital to hospital.

What kind of club is The Spot? Officials from Fire Rescue as part of their protocol follow up to determine whether or not The Spot is a teen club, if it is licensed as a club or the late-night event was an unlicensed gathering Carroll said. The phone number for The Spot was out of service as of Sunday. But investigators were interviewing the owner to determine whether or not the club is properly licensed.

Burden said that she had never heard of this venue, and she had been working the neighborhood surrounding The Spot for years.

Was it a private party? Was it open to the public? That’s what we’re trying to figure out.

Why were underage kids out so late? Police are interviewing “dozens of witnesses,” Carroll said,

What was very surprising to the responders was that these were kids that were out at 1 o’clock in the morning in a club and this type of violence took place where a bunch of kids were gathering. It’s very disturbing to see that.

Burden also questioned why so many underage children were out so late. Apparently none of the shooting victims were over the age of 25, CBS Miami reports.

Why did the shooting start? After the shooting was over, Burden said it was not immediately clear how many shooters came to the club or what prompted the violence. Police had not made any arrests as of Sunday, and had not publicly identified any suspects.

How many were injured during the shooting? Including the unresponsive and the five wounded, underage girls a total of 15 people were wounded. One person is in critical but stable condition, and the remainder of the wounded are still in the hospital. The hospital discharged some of the shooting victims, but Burden did not have the number at that time,

We’re reaching out to the community now to find out if anyone knows anything or saw anything.

Behind their cordoned-off areas, police crowded The Spot’s entrance, and emergency vehicles blocked traffic for hours. Let’s hope that the community and state leaders will be able to keep children and teens out of the crossfire.
