Gun Used To Kill Trayvon Martin Will Be Returned To Zimmerman, Who Plans To Carry It

George Zimmerman will not only be back on the streets after killing 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, but he’ll be on those streets with the gun he used to kill him.

Under an incredibly fucked up system, an admitted killer will not only be freed, not only allowed to still own a gun, but will also get back the same Kel-Tec PF-9 he’s already used to kill a young man. When asked if Zimmerman plans to actually carry the gun, his attorney Mark O’Mara¬†gave a resounding affirmative answer.

“Yes, he does [… There’s] even more reason now, isn’t there? There are a lot of people out there who actually hate him, though they shouldn’t.”

Zimmerman’s brother, Robert, echoed these sentiments on the talk show circuit this weekend, winning the Scumbag of the Year award for actually having the nerve to express concern about someone taking the law into their own hands and harming George Zimmerman.

“There are factions, there are groups, there are people that would want to take the law into their own hands as they perceive it, or be vigilante’s in some sense. […] It’s a reality that some people don’t respect this verdict and think that they want to take justice into their own hands.”

Indeed, the concern about vigilante justice is real, as Jay Smooth made so eloquently clear in a quote that went viral this weekend:

“The fundamental danger of an acquittal is not more riots, it’s more George Zimmermans.”

If the Zimmerman family is genuinely concerned about potential vigilantes, they have cause to be. They see what George did and recognize that someone could do the same to them. The fact of the matter is this: George Zimmerman may have ‘won’ his freedom, but he will never really be free. He knows this. It’s why he will clutch his gun tightly when he is forced to be in public, with people staring, gawking, knowing that a killer is in their midst. He will face discrimination of the kind he inflicted on Trayvon Martin when he stalked him, assuming that a black kid out on the street must be up to no good. He will forever have to live with people shunning him, shaming him, despite having no shame of his own. And while he will forever deserve every angry glare, every contemptuous word flung in his direction, it will make this already volatile and violent man an even bigger threat than ever.

One who still has his semi-automatic 9mm pistol.
