The David Pakman Show – Laura Bush: Room For Republicans Who Scare Women With Rape Talk (VIDEO)

Laura Bush, wife of former President George W. Bush, makes the bizarre point that “we have room” for Republicans who “frightened” women with rape talk during 2012 election campaigns.

In an interview with CNN’s Erin Burnett on her show “Erin Burnett OutFront,” the question was asked: could the party’s losses be partially blamed on the insensitive – and sometimes incendiary – talk about social issues like rape and women’s reproductive care. The former First Lady asserted that women who were frightened by such talk “were the exception rather than the norm.” She also went on to say:

“All of those social issues are very, very heartfelt by people. And I understand their differences. And I’m glad that in our party we have room for all of them. I think that’s important too.”
