Glenn Beck Compares Norway Victims to ‘Hitler Youth’, Ignores His Own Child-Indoctrination Camps

Yesterday morning on Glenn Beck’s radio show, the former Fox News oustee gave his brief yet pointless take on the Oslo terrror attacks that occurred over the weekend.

According to the self-proclaimed prophet of American freedom, the “political camp” that was targeted by alleged terrorist Anders Behring Breivik was kind of like a gathering of the “Hitler Youth…or whatever.”

“Saturday I was following the news of the shooting in Norway and the explosion in Norway, which happened what on Friday,” Beck said. “When we heard the explosion everybody was willing to say ‘it’s Muslim extremists, it’s Muslim extremists.’ I don’t think we made a comment on it because we didn’t know other than a bombing had happened, and as the thing started to unfold and there was a shooting a political camp, which sounds a little like the Hitler Youth or you know whatever. Who does a camp for kids that’s all about politics? Disturbing. But, anyway, so there’s this political camp and so crazy man goes and starts shooting kids.”

Notice how Beck immediately distances himself from the large-majority view of his base who had since been called out on its blame of Muslim extremists. Notice also his nonchalant dig at a Labour Party group by comparing it to a Nazi organization. And we all know how Beck-ites just eat up his Nazi comparisons – not to mention the fact that both Beck and the alleged Oslo attacker share the very same political philosophy.

But most profoundly face-palming of his broadcast is the fact that he considers a youth political camp to be “disturbing.” Apparently, since leaving Fox, Beck has developed a severe case of amnesia regarding his self-revered “9/12 Project” – a political ideology organization that itself held youth camps just this past summer.

The 9/12 Project – a program started by Beck that arguably works to instill and prolong the same level of fear, disdain and paranoia that existed in this country less than 24 hours after the worst terror attacks in American history – has and continues to promote antiquated racism and ideological waste that our American society has been working toward ridding itself of for more than a generation.

Hidden behind cannons of “responsible spending”, “small government” and unquestionable reverence forour supposedly infallible Founding Fathers, 9/12 instills in its cohorts a domineering sense of Christian-American exceptionalism that denounces any form of American secularism, promotes anti-gay rhetoric and an almost unrecognizable distortion of American history.

And to worsen matters, the group’s youth program – Constitutional Champions – aims to indoctrinate impressionable kids by introducing them to these facets early in life via a dishonest and purposefully skewed representation of American culture.

Hitler Youth, indeed.
